🕳️ Potholes & Road Issues
Town of Islip Department of Public Works- Call the Town of Islip pothole hotline: (631) 224-5610, or report online at islipny.gov/report.
- Provide the street name, nearest cross street or house number, and a description of the problem.
Note: the Town can only repair roads under Town jurisdiction. Some roads in our area are maintained by Suffolk County or New York State — if it's not a Town road, the Town can direct you to the right agency.
💡 Broken Streetlights & Traffic Signs
Town of Islip Traffic Safety Division- Call the Traffic Safety Division: (631) 224-5535. They maintain streetlights, traffic signals, and street signs on Town and County roads within Islip.
- Note the pole number if visible, plus the nearest address or cross street, and describe the problem (light out, flickering, on during the day, damaged pole).
A downed pole or exposed wires is an emergency — stay clear and call 911, then PSEG Long Island at 1-800-490-0075.
🏠 Code Enforcement & Zoning Concerns
Town of Islip Division of Code Enforcement- Call the Central Complaint Unit: (631) 224-5460. This covers zoning complaints, illegal dwellings, outdoor storage, unregistered vehicles, and property maintenance issues.
- Describe the property location and the concern. Complaints are registered and investigated by the Division of Code Enforcement (28 Nassau Avenue, Islip).

Pails must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on collection day and weigh under 50 lbs each.
